James Martin retains the right to determine if a product is defective, and its judgment shall be final in such matters. For vanity tops, this Warranty does not apply to any quartz stone tops, which have a separate manufacturer warranty. This Warranty does not apply to any product which is modified in any way or used on any installation or unit other than a residential property. If you believe your product is defective, please return it and a copy of the dated sales receipt (Proof of Purchase) to the James Martin retailer where you purchased the product. You may also contact James Martin Customer Service at customercare@jamesmartinvanities.com, or by sending written notification to James Martin that a product may be defective within the applicable Warranty Period via mail at the address below. Mercer Island/Oasis pulls are made form Zinc Alloy. Stained and Painted Finishes All of our stained finishes are blended, and have glaze top-coats. There can be huge variation. Color changes depending on wood species, oil-based vs. water based, etc. We are currently in the process of matching our painted finishes with local paint suppliers. Can I order cabinet only and use my own top? Yes, Most of our cabinets can be ordered as Cabinet Only. Currently, any unit in the following collections is available this way. Any cabinet that doesn't allow a top selection or states Married Top in the description would not be able to be ordered without a top. All of our cabinets arrive with wooden risers screwed into the tops of the cabinets in order to accommodate our 4cm Laminated stone tops. If you desire to use a different thickness of top such as 2cm or 1.18, these risers will need to be removed. Simply unscrew them from the top of the vanity and discard. Your tops will rest directly on the top of the vanity cabinet. If you are going to use a 4cm Laminated top (either ours or one of yours), the top will fit on top of these risers allowing the lip of the top to rest at the top of the vanity. Can I order Custom Sizes or Finishes? Unfortunately, while we offer many ways to customize your unit with various top or stone options, we are unable to manufacture custom sizes or finishes on an individual basis. Wood Care The bathroom can be one of the harshest and most unforgiving places for wood furniture. We have sealed and finished the vanity and backsplash but care and maintenance are imperative. The key point to remember is that any finish can be taken off. Thus, the use of harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, scouring pads, and the like can remove the finish leaving your items exposed to the elements. For dusting, use a soft-treated cloth or a feather or lamb’s wool duster. For further cleaning, you can use warm water with mild dish soap. Do not soak the wood but gently wipe using a soft cloth. Once clean, wipe off any residual moisture with a damp cloth. After a good cleaning, the best way to protect the finish is to use good-quality soft paste wax. Apply a thin coat as directed on the label. Wait five minutes and buff lightly with a soft (shoe) brush or cloth. Wait for another 30 to 60 minutes and buff/brush again with a bit more vigor. You'll see a beautiful shine return to the finish that will last for many months. Wood isn't hungry! You cannot feed furniture. No matter what the advertising says, wood cannot be fed or nourished or enriched with polishes or oils. Once it has a protective finish over it for beauty and protection, the wood is sealed. Polishes and oils will not penetrate it.
