It's no secret that clothes can be expensive. And when you're on a budget, the last thing you want to do is spend money on something you can wear more than once. That's why knowing how to stretch a shirt is so important. By following these ways, you can make your shirts last for weeks - or even months.  Conditioner Stretch There are a few steps to follow when using this method. First, fill a sink with lukewarm water and add a capful of cheap conditioner. Next, the shirt soaks in the mixture for about 15 minutes. Once the time is up, drain the sink and rinse your shirt with cold water. Finally, lay your shirt flat on a towel to dry. Another way to get your shirt conditioner stretched is given below: Fill a bucket or tub with cool water and add a cup of conditioner. Mix all the conditioner with your hand to make sure fully dissolves into the water. You'll want to use enough conditioner so that the water is cloudy. Then, using a spray bottle, mist the shirt evenly with the solution. Massage the fabric gently so the conditioner is worked into the fibers, and let the shirt air dry. The hair conditioner or baby shampoo will also help to soften the fabric and make it more pliable. As a result, you should be able to stretch the shirt without worrying about it ripping or tearing. Just be sure not to overdo it, as too much conditioner can leave the fabric feeling stiff. Iron Stretch This method is best used on collared shirts and button-downs. First, turn the shirt inside out and lay it flat surface on an ironing board. Using a steam iron set to the lowest heat setting, slowly run the iron over the fabric. Be sure not to keep the iron in one spot for too long, as this can cause the fabric to burn. Once the entire shirt has been steamed, begin stretching it out gently. Start with the sleeves, then move on to the body of the shirt. If you notice any areas that are still tight, simply steam them again and continue stretching the dress shirt gently press. When you're finished, hang the shirt up to dry. The heat from the iron will help to loosen the fibers in the fabric, making it easier to stretch. Just be sure to use a low heat setting, as too much heat can damage the shirt. Shower Stretch This method is best used for larger items such as wool sweaters and t-shirts. Start by wetting the t-shirt with warm water in the shower, making sure that it's thoroughly saturated. Then, using both hands, begin stretching the fabric until it's the desired size. You may need to do this a few times to get the desired effect. This sounds a little silly, but it works! Soaking the shirt in warm water will help to loosen the fibers and make it more pliable. As a result, you'll be able to stretch it out without any trouble. Take care of shirts properly. Tug Stretch This method is similar to the shower stretch, but it can be done without getting yourself wet. Start by saturating the cotton shirt with hot water, making sure that excess water is thoroughly saturated. Then, using both hands, gently tug the fabric until it's the desired size. You may need to do this a few times to get the desired effect. This is a great way to stretch out cotton shirts if you don't have time for a shower. By saturating the fabric, you'll be able to loosen the fibers and make them more pliable. As a result, you'll be able to stretch it out without any trouble. Weight Stretch The weight stretch method is best used for larger items such as sweaters and t-shirts. Start by wetting the shirt with warm water, making sure that it's thoroughly saturated. Then, place a heavy object on top of the shirt, such as a stack of books. Leave the shirt overnight, allowing it to dry completely. In the morning, remove the heavy object and carefully stretch the shirt. This method is a bit more time-consuming, but it's effective. By placing a heavy object on top of the wet shirt, you'll be able to stretch it out overnight. In the morning, you'll be able to easily pull the shirt back into shape. Body Stretch The body shirt stretch method is best used for any shrunken shirts and clothes Wet the shirt with warm water, making sure that it's thoroughly saturated. Put the shirt on and begin stretching it out. Be careful not too hard, as you don't want to rip the fabric. If necessary, repeat the process until the shirt is the desired size. This method is similar to the shower stretched shirt, but it can be done without getting yourself wet. By saturating the fabric, you'll be able to loosen the fibers and make them more pliable. As a result, you'll be able to stretch it out without any trouble. Chair Stretch The chair stretch method is best used for smaller items such as collared shirts and dress shirts. A shirt soaks in warm water, making sure that it's thoroughly saturated. Place the shirt over a chair, making sure that the arms are stretched out in the opposite directions. Sit in the chair and gently pull the fabric. Repeat the process until the shirt is the desired size. It is similar to the weight stretch, but it's a bit more hands-on. Plus, this method is great if you don't have anything heavy to place on top of the shirt. Want To Get Shirt Which Fit Perfectly? There's nothing worse than a shirt that's too tight or too loose.
